La Merced Del Alto

Without a doubt, this was the most stunning hotel we have stayed in during our 3 week road trip of northern Argentina. The location is amazing-beautiful and peaceful-and the hotel itself is incredible. Despite the size of the rooms, it was very warm. Our 3 course dinner, and breakfast the next morning, were delicious. Just sad that we were only here for 1 night.

This was one of the most memorable places we have ever stayed at. The property itself is a work of art with a large garden and breathtaking views everywhere you look. We arrived late at night and were delighted to find the restaurant still open. We had an excellent steak with delicious wine, empanadas, desert etc., served by a nice waiter. In terms of the room, the beds were comfy and huge. Since the hotel is in the middle of nature, you can stargaze and take photos of the night sky even with a phone. As a bonus, there was a cute friendly ginger cat hanging around, letting guests pet it. Overall, it was magical. I hope to come back here in the future.

The hotel was a beautiful colonial-style building and they had a really good restaurant with elegant dishes. Decent internet, a nice pool (although quite dirty), and friendly staff. Comfortable beds.

- great location (outside of Cachi, a car is recommended, but in our case it was, what we were looking for) - nice rooms (without an AC, which was not needed during our stay (mid February) - good restaurant

Breakfast is excellent, many options and they even prepare your eggs as you like them. Views from the hotel are amazing, room was big and comfortable and everything was super clean. The staff is excellent.
